Was Runner Of The Month for
Sep-19
Please enter reason hereSeptember's runner of the month is a relative newcomer to LERC, but someone who has made a big impression. Lee only joined in April after inadvertently joining in on one of our 5 mile time trial runs, whilst out on a solo run. He enjoyed running with others so much, he joined almost immediately.
Anyone who knows Lee, will know his background of charity running over the marathon distance and the inspirational transformation he has made in his life. You will also probably know Lee's recognisable style of a buff and his headphones - although I'm not sure if he's ever actually listening to anything with his sociable and supportive nature!
Lee has been asset to the club and this has been highlighted through September, as he formed part of a great group of LERC'ers, who worked together and supported each as they strode towards their respective goals.
Results-wise, Lee had a great September, starting off with a PB at the Wilne 10k, just missing on a sub 43 clocking by an agonising 3 seconds. Lee then went on to finish 36th at the Draycote Water 20 miler, in a very respectable time, before smashing the Robin Hood half and knocking a few minutes of his previous best, despite the poor weather conditions!
Congratulations Lee and keep doing what you're doing 💪
*Lee has since completed his Chester marathon, despite picking up an injury on his way around. Trooper.
