May Runner of the Month - James Fisher
Coming in off the back of a podium winning Marathon run, James has shown he can do it all, with shorter distances taking priority, even while regularly racking up big training miles, including a 30 mile fun run.
Over 5k, James clocked a speedy 16:32 at No Walk in the Park, which would have earnt him a county championships medal - but he lives the wrong side of the border. He should have also been County Champ for the 2000m Steeplechase, but was cruelly denied as they cancelled his event.
James wasn't to be denied at Trent 5 though, putting a storming run in, to smash his PB for a time of 27:17 and also help LERC to the team prize. Team events are where James excels and he's been a very dependable and key part of our title winning sides, for a long time now - often going under the radar.
In May, James was one of a few who took on the Denby and Holme Pierrepont double header, performing brilliantly with an 8th place at Denby followed by 26th in the Notts League, again helping the team come out on top at both.
Helping the team out in another way, James was also a vital volunteer for us as we hosted the Bannister Mile at the beginning of the month.
Well done James, a great month in another month, where there have been a host of really impressive months for the club 💙
