Long Eaton Running Clubs Annual AGM
The clubs annual AGM will take place on 16th October starting at 8pm prompt at The Barge pub on Tamworth Road upstairs in the function room. Same as previous years.
The AGM will in summary review prior years AGM minutes which are online on the website (search under About us & documents titled AGM), with Annual reports from committee and the election of any new committee positions. Any proposed alterations to club rules, followed by any other matters from committee or members present.
With regard to club committee positions, all roles are available if an individual wanted to put their name down and have it seconded on the nominations sheet which will be put up for 2 weeks on the club notice board from Tuesday night 18th September and taken down 2 weeks before the meeting.
Roles vacant are Press Officer.
Roles where existing committee members are stepping down to handover are:
Men’s Captain – Ian Chant
Ladies Captain – Cathy Brown.
Other roles are Chairman, Club Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Secretary, Fell Captain, Kit Sales Administrator, Social Secretary and Charities Secretary.

London Marathon Club Ballot UPDATE - POSTPONED UNTIL 30TH OCTOBER SEE NEWS ITEMS FOR ENTRY PROCESS AND REVISED DATES.
If the timing of the London marathon rejection notices allow, we will also look to draw the 2 club places along with a reserve, via a ballot.
Please note the club rules for entry below and we will be enforcing a deadline of submitting your name into the club ballot a week prior to the AGM date: 9th October via Rachel Argent, Club Secretary.
Evidence of the rejection email / notification will be required to enter the ballot.
If the London marathon acceptance / rejections are not announced in time, we will have the London Marathon draw at the Halloween and Summer League presentation night 30th October. Submission will be for entry will be one week prior to draw.
13. LONDON MARATHON DRAW
In any year where the Club is awarded guaranteed entries for the London Marathon a draw shall take place at the AGM or other suitable occasion, subject to the following conditions:
a) any member entering the draw must have paid the subscription fee for that year’s membership in full, and by 1st April.
b) any member entering the draw must have applied for a London Marathon place through the ballot as a member of Long Eaton Running Club, and have received a rejection letter
c) names shall be drawn for each place available plus one reserve
d) in the event of any reason for not being able to run, the club place must be given up to the reserve runner. Deferrals will only be allowed after the London Marathon cut-off date for club substitutions
