Midweek leagues after two races.

Notts AAA RR League

Both races so far have attracted over 600 runners, an amazing achievement for a midweek league, and the standard is higher than ever. After the two races the senior men are in 3rd team spot, achieving 4th place at Holme Pierrepont. The men’s vets have climbed a place to 5th overall, also achieving 5th on the night. The senior women are in 4th team place overall, after being in 4th place on the night.
With three races to go, all of these positions can be improved upon. If the club turnout matches those at Hexgreave Park and Holme Pierrepont, and our best runners can be available again, we can maintain, or improve to top three positions. The vet’s women are also placed well mid-table.
Individually, Stef Warwick and Ellie Lunt are 8th and 9th overall so far, and Val Lindsey is 2nd LV65. Aston Perrin is in 6th (4th Senior) place, with Dave Riley 2nd MV60.

Booth’s D RR League

This league is also attracting large numbers, from predominantly Derbyshire clubs. It too, is increasing in the quality competition it provides.
After two races the men’s team is in 8th place (7th at Ilkeston), the women’s team is 6th (4th) and the club is 6th in the combined table (6th at Ilkeston).
Like the Notts AAA league, we can improve these positions if we continue to turn out in large numbers.
Dave Riley, Alan Maplethorpe and Val Lindsey are all 2nd in their respective age categories after two races.

The next round of races for June are:
Booth’s - Tuesday 6 June at Denby Pottery Centre
Notts AAA - Wednesday 21 June at Newark.
