Notts & Derbys County Cross Country Champs 2016
This annual, shared event is taking place at Shipley Park (as 2014) on Sat 9th Jan.
As posted elsewhere, Rich Wilkinson and I will once again be co-ordinating entries, Rich - Notts, me - Derbys.
Entries must be submitted by early December, so we both need a clear commitment to run, and payment up front.
Derbyshire - £6 each/Notts - £5 each.
Rich has outlined his requirements in detail on the forum under "Fell and Off-road". The minimum is your address, date of birth, EA number, and a claim to either county as follows:
1. County of birth.
2. County of residence for 9 continuous months up to the date of the event (includes services personnel posted in the county).
You may qualify for the same county on both counts, or for both, in which case you may choose. However, your choice must be consistent within the competition year which began on 1 Oct 2015. For example, if you do have a choice, and entered the Notts County Half Marathon Champs in the Worksop Half, you must only enter Notts County Champs events, eg, Newstead Abbey Dash (5k) or Notts 10m. After 30 Sep 2016 you may choose your other option, again being consistent until the next competition year begins.
Unfortunately, one or two club members may not qualify for either county championship, as the 9 month rule must be adhered to, and they may not have been born in this area. For this reason, we don't include this event in our winter league.
Please don't just add your name to the forum thread, and sit back. Get in touch as well. For those Titans of Derbyshire, I will be in touch with you soon, or let me know ASAP.

ps, we are often successful in the team events because we make an effort to field enough runners, and in both championships simultaneously, whereas other more prominent local clubs haven't done so. There is also the possibility of one or two of our in-form athletes being selected to run for their county.
