4 out of 5 mid-week league races completed
After 4 of the 5 rounds of mid-week summer road league races, sadly only the men’s vets team in the Notts AAA league are in a challenging position. They are clear in 3rd place, behind Holme Pierrepont RC and Mansfield Harriers, and a similar turnout to that at Worksop College will virtually guarantee the team bronze medal.
Individually, and having completed all four races, four club members are placed as follows:
Rob Fox - 3rd V50-59, Dave Riley - 2nd V60-69, Val Lindsey - 1st LV65 + & Pat Allen - 3rd LV65+
All must run at Teversal Grange on 12 Aug to remain in contention for age category positions.
In the Booth’s Decorators league, the club team positions are best over-looked! However, Rob, Dave & Val are leading their respective age categories, having run all four races so far. In this league, the best four out of five finishes are considered for the final table, or just four finishes (only three for VM60 & VL65), so Cath Rowe must run in race 5 at Shipley Cricket Club on 4th Aug to be able to improve her joint 2nd spot as a LV55, or at least remain in contention as she has only run three so far.
The stand-out performances in the two races were Rich Howe - 21st , and Gemma Scott 16th at Carsington Water in the Booth’s, and Anthony Hatswell - 15th, Nick Dennis - 17th and Lindsay Smith - 29th at Worksop College.
All positions listed in results. See also the Club Summer League table latest standings.
