UK Trail Running Glory for LERC runner

Having achieved a creditable 3.07 at the pancake-flat London Marathon two weeks ago, Rich Wilkinson was back on his favoured surface yesterday, ie, off-road and hilly. He was competing in the UK Trail Running Championships, as part of the Red Kite Challenge, Aberysthwyth.

This year, the course has been increased to half marathon distance, with 2000ft of climbing. In windy and cold conditions, Rich finished in 15th place overall, in 1hr 39.07mins and took the gold medal as 1st V50, becoming UK V50 Trail Running Champion for 2013.

Not content with his weekend's work, Rich intended to compete in a 17 mile event today, although as yet, no report of further heroics.
