BMAF/MMAC Track 10k Champs(5/6/2011)
Long Eaton don’t run much on track but the British masters 10k Track Champs held at Oxford saw 2 of our Vets taking part with Jackie Mather and Rob Fox acquitting them selves well with both getting silver medals in the their age Categories, with Jackie missing out on gold by 2 days because if she was 2 days older she would have been 40, 10 (i.e. 50) and her time would have been good enough to beat all the other 50 year olds. Obviously the Course was flat and with 25 laps to do both Jackie and Rob were worried that they would be lapped as it was neither was and both came away with well deserved Silvers.
