Paws 10k

Its sometimes strange how a theme or a coincidence happens, in the Paws 10k on Sat 9th April the number 3 was this factor, with the 3rd running of the race, Long Eaton took 3rd place in both the mens and Ladies event and Shaun Burton ran the race for the 3rd time. The weather was sunny and quite warm but no wind to speak of, the route was mainly flat with a really sharp hill at 5.5k and the terian was man made paths around Cotgrave County Park. The Race numbers has doubled each year since it has started with approx 90 runners in 2009, 170 in 2010 and 330 entered this year.
Andy Peat took Long Eaton honors with his 3rd place in 37:07, Liz Day racing for the 1st time in ages was next back for the Club in 43:43 and 37th place and took the 3rd ladies prize, Rich Howe set a fine time in his 1st 10k running for Long Eaton running at 7:15 pace to clock just under 45 mins, Dan Jackson back from injury was only a few seconds outside his PB with 45:14, and imediatly went back down the course to cheer on a female friend who was also racing. Shaun Burton with very tight hamstings after over doing things in training recently struggled round in 46:28 the exact same time it took him to complete the race 3 years ago!
