The headline result this week is Carole Birch’s fine run in the Kent 50 Mile Challenge. After many months of long back to back training runs, Carole covered the 52.4 mile lapped course in an excellent 11:21:15.
Trail
On a flat course around Elvaston Castle, Sarah Harris was 1st lady in the Tara Kinder 10K in 37:08 for 6th place. First man home was Anthony Carbutt in a pb 41:01 and 30th and other pb’s were: Dan Jackson 45:08 81st; Martin Rafferty 45:25 84th; Kathy Crockford 57:00 257th ; and Bob Crockford 58:48 273rd. The inaugural running of the Tunnels and Trails race along the High Peak Trail near Wirksworth in aid of the Help for Heroes charity saw, John Birch notch up another vet 50 victory with 39:15 and 4th overall in this 10K race with Monica Fee 2nd lady in 43:0.
Road
On the quick, lapped course around the Trent embankment, the Notts 5 race was held in ideal conditions and fast times were recorded with pb’s for: Paul Lewis in 8th in 25:35; Sarah Harris 20th in 28:45; and Rebecca Roberts 131st in 40:08. Full club results below:

Fell
The sole runner in the club’s fell league race in the Brecon mountains at Fan Y Big was, Bill Sheppard. In windy conditions, Bill covered the 10 miles and 2200 feet in 1:50:54 for 71st.
In the English Fell Running Championship long counting race at the 17 miles 4000 feet Holme Moss race, in strong winds and rain, Dicky Wilkinson claimed championship points in the V50 category finishing 113th in 3:16:40.
