Snow and Ice doesnt stop Sarah

The recent heavy snow ,freezing temps and ice did not deter the Long Eaton Running Club from training although it meant that the Southwell 10k was rightly cancelled 15 Mins before the start and the Whatstandwell 5 miler on new years day was cut short so the race was a steep up hill one, to prove the fact that the snow had not slowed anyone down too much, Sarah Harris promptly went and ran the last in the series of 4 races in the North Midlands Cross Country and her 2nd Place finish on the day meant that she was the Series Winner for the Senior women, Brilliant Sarah. She was unaware that she had won until the prize giving and she thought she might have got 2nd place, husband Rob who is ever so Supportive was "over the Moon". The race Woolaton Park on the 16th of Jan Saw the Biggest turn out for the Long Eaton Ladies with 5 taking Part, Jackie Mather who at the Moment is running over 50 miles per week in Training was 26th, Cath Benson Not having done much running in the previous 3 weeks was 38th, Carol Prokopyszyn (I usually call her Carol P) had a fine run as was looking good on her 2nd lap was 59th and Clare "i run every where" Grace did brilliantly to finish 68th. On the mens front Woolaton Park was a good one with the Team closing in on 6th place just missed out and finished 7th by only a small number of points not a bad effort as the Race Held at Corby almost meant that we would not have counted in the overall standings as 10 mins before the off we were a man short but with the help of Bob Warburton who was there to Cheer on his son and was not going to race and Mario Rochelli getting there with a minute to go it meant we got a score on the door. Results for the Woolaton Park race are at http://www.longeatonrunningclub.com/results/viewrace.php?raceid=1110:- With Paul Lewis 1st Back in 17th Place, Course bests were set by Rob Fox,Phil Abbott and Shaun Burton
