Hinckley Half Marathon

The 13.1 mile course had changed from the previous year with 1 hill taken out and the start moved to within the water park.

The weather was also different from the 2008 race with heat reaching 30 degrees, this year it was more like half that and with a gentle cooling breeze making conditions good for the runners.

4 Long Eatoners, 3 in club colours and 1 in his second Claim Colours of Hermitage Harriers took part and with over a thousand finishers Long Eaton did well. Phil Abbott (Hermitage) set a new PB of 1:25:01 (50th), Monica Fee was happy with her 1:35 (184th), Shaun Burton and Sarah Crannage slugged it out over the race with Sarah beating Shaun by 37 seconds after passing him at 9 miles, Sarah set 1:44:39 (383rd) and Shaun was 1:45:16 (406th). Shaun was pleased to have wiped off the memory last years time in which he suffered badly in the heat and set his worst time ever of 2:09
