East Midlands and Booth Cross Country Races

Both the last race in both cross country leagues took place on the same day at the same time, so Long Eaton were split with 12 running at Darley Park for the East Midlands and 15 at Berry Hill. The east midland XC race Started with both LERC and Redhill Tied for 1st place after the first 4 races so the winner would be the one who performed best on the day. LERC took a strong team to the Derby based course and with Paul Lewis (1st), Andy Dickinson(6th), Rob Fox(12th) and Andy Colegate(14th) beating there Redhill Counterparts quite comfortably on the day to take the spoils and become Champions of the East Midlands Cross Country League 2008/9.

The Booth Decorators final race was held at Berry Hill in Mansfield and after the 1st 4 races the mens team were 4th and the ladies were 7th overall. This was the 1st year that LERC have competed in the league and with many of the fastest male runners from LERC at Darley Park, Long Eaton put up a very good perfomance to keep hold of their 4th place after the race Junior members Mark Boot 4th and Cameron Mcneill(15th) lead the way . The ladies had a fantastic run with Captain Caroline waterhouse rounding up a strong team to finish 4th overall after the race had ended with a 3rd place finish on the day. Sharon Orridge(19th),Caroline(76th) and Cath Benson (80th) were the 3 counters with Jackie Mather (99th) making sure the team had at least 3 counters.
