East Midlands Cross Country Race 4
This race held at Colwick Woods was Very Hilly but not too cold and the surface was perfect. 20 Members of Long Eaton took part with 18 being men. The mens team was a strong one with many of the faster runners from the club attending. With Long Eaton Leading the 5 race series after the 1st 3 races hopes were that LERC would wrap up the title with one race to go. As it was a very close r team result between Long Eaton and 2nd Place Redhill went to Redhill by just 2 positions. Long Eatons 1st 4 scored 41 and Redhill's 39. The last race at Darley Park on 1st March will be the decider with both Redhill and Long Eaton Tied with only points difference of 4 seperating the two Teams.
The Ladies 2 were Acting Captain Caroline Waterhouse who finished 9th and Karen Preston who is racing most weekends these days was 38th.
Dave Weston who is new to the club decided to race his 1st race for the club and with the course being quite a hard one will hopefully find the next race a bit easier. Chairman Ash Patel ran his 1st race in 3 months and also found it hard. the best result of the day was set by Damien Cowlishaw who knocked 3 mins off his previous best for this race and also beat a few runners from the club who he had never beaten before. Well done Damien
