Great Eastern Run

On 12th October 2008 Monica Fee attempted to break the sub 90-minute barrier for a half marathon at the Great Eastern run in Peterborough. Hailed the Greatest race in the East, the course follows the flat streets of Peterborough, and the runners are cheered on by thousands of spectators, who line the streets.

Monica smashed her previous personal best time of 92:32, despite the increasing heat throughout the morning, finishing just shy of her target with a time of 90:30. Well done Monica!

Simon Hardy and Phil Abbott also competed in the race. Simon completed the course in 89:31 minutes, setting a new personal best. This is the second time he has completed the distance in less than 90 minutes. Phil Abbott ran the course with Monica, finishing in 90:18.
