Folksworth 15

On Sunday 20th January 4 Long Eaton runners competed in the Folksworth 15 race as part of marathon preparation. The course takes in some great scenery of the area and is a testing route that takes in one fairly steep hill at about mile 7 and another just before the finish. There are other inclines to be tackled along the course, and one steep downhill. The course is two laps.

The rain stopped just long enough for the runners to complete the course but the wind made things interesting. Paul Lewis had a stunning race, finishing in what he thought was fifth place, which was much improved from his finishing position of 13th in 2007. He completed the course in a massive PB time of 1:29:07 and finished in not fifth place, but in fact second place! Phil Abbott completed the course in a time of 1:48:10, with Colin Bostock finishing in 2:02:06 and Vicky Yeomans finishing in a time of 2:06:17.
