Queens Head 5k
Nine Long Eaton men ran the Queens Head 5k Road race in Belper on the 27th December. The course was an undulating one with a short sharp uphill at 4k and a nice down hill stretch for the last 400m. The weather was mild on the day and the wind was not too strong and some good results were set by the runners.
PB's were achieved by John Hay who knocked over 2 mins off his previous best, Phil Abbott set 19:20, with Jaik Pickford running his 1st 5k for Long Eaton, finishing in a creditable 27th place. Alan Seamer set one of his fastest times in Long Eaton Colours. Talking of which, Colin Bostock in his brand new Long Eaton Shirt set a time of just over 22 mins, with Shaun Burton emulating Paula Radcliffe by wearing long socks and even after a Paula style pit stop set one of his best times of 21:40.
There were 86 finishers with the winner's time of 15:39.
