Dry Dovedale Dash

The 52nd Dash was run in perfect conditions on probably one of the driest events in its history. Five Long Eaton runners decided to forsake club points to run in the Derbyshire Dales. Starting from Thorpe Meadows car park with a fast downhill to the River Dove crossing, without the use of the stepping stones. A loop round the roads and fields brings the course back to the river with an uphill finish back to Thorpe Meadows. The temptation to race was too strong for the injured Richard Wilkinson, who finished in 35th position. Eddie Matheson finished 135th, Colin Bostock 195th and a new course best. Bob Warburton finished 289th out of 1129 runners
