LERC out and about

The Exterminator, Longshaw, the Waddle ,the Friends and Great Longstone , sounding like characters from an episode of Dr Who, with some of these races just as tough and as tricky as the Timelord's enemies.

With the Nottingham half and full marathon coming up on the 16th of September only a few LERC members were out racing last weekend. Rich Wilkinson, Phil Abbott, Colin Bostock and “fell Addict” Vicky Yeomans jumped in to their Tardis to run and climb 4.8 miles and 950 ft at Great Longstone.

Rich was 1st Back in 33:15, only 3 mins later Phil crossed the line with Colin another 3mins further back. Vicky set a time of 41:23.

Colin was busy also running the grueling 16 mile 4050ft Exterminator fell race just 2 days later in 3:49:05. I think that David Tennant would have has an easier day fighting off daleks than this run.

Colin also found time to run the Longshaw Fell race in between Great Longstone and Exterminating, completing 5.5 miles and 650ft.

Damien Cowlishaw ran the first Wymeswold Waddle 5 mile race completing the undulating course in a quack 38:45. Asking how he felt after the race he said “I'm Quackkered”.

The Fourth running of the friends 10k in West Bridgeford saw an new and improved course with Shaun Burton, Bill Sheppard and Catherine Rowe completing the race. Both Shaun and Catherine have done every one. The flatter course is more interesting and quicker with Shaun 31st in a time of 44:35, Bill 64th in 48:34 and Catherine 67th in 48:41, Catherine also picked up the prize for the first lady V40.
