Burnsall Classic

On a sunny August Bank Holiday Saturday around 124 fell runners turned up in the picturesque village of Burnsall to tackle one of the oldest fell races, The Burnsall Classic.
The field were set of on their 1.5 mile course with over 1000ft climb by Angela Barker who was none other than Miss February in Calendar Girls.

The mens race was won by Rob Jebb from Bingley Harriers & Ac in a time of 13:41 minutes while Mary Wilkinson from the same club was the first lady home in a time of 18:05.
Andrei Vais representing Long Eaton Running Club put a good performance and came home in a time of 20:36 minutes, finishing 53rd out of 113 male runners.

With great events throughout the day for adults and children alike, including a 10 mile road race and an egg throwing competition, The Burnsall Feast Sports festival should definitely be more prominent in the Long Eaton Running Club 2008 calendar.
