Matterhorn of the Peak fell race
On a sunny Saturday afternoon, the Chrome Hill Fell Race proved great sport for four Long Eaton Fell Runners. Starting and finishing at the idyllic Staffordshire hamlet of Hollinsclough, the 4 mile 700 foot race, part of the annual fete, raises money for the local primary school. In 13th place in 35m18s was Dicky Wilkinson finishing first for the club. Then followed Audrie Vais in 20th/39m16s, Monty Walters, 29th in 42m43s, closely harried by Col Bostock, 32nd and 42m58s. The event was so spectacular that it will be the venue for the Long Eaton Running Club 2008 Fell Championship Race.
