Wollaton Park XC
On Saturday Wollaton Park Staged the 4th and final event in the North Midlands Cross Country League. With Neil Renault not running Alan Seamer complete the 6.2 miles first for LERC in 54th Place.
Ian Adkin chasing all the way was only 7 places and 53 secs behind Alan. Rob Fox (71st) was hounded by Richard Wilkinson, Alan Maplethorpe and Rob Jackson. The near perfect conditions for running and with the course holding up well after the recent rain also saw good performances from Graham Whitt who took 45 mins to run this hilly 10K, Colin Bostock and John Hay fought out a duel all the way round the course with Colin the victor by just 22 seconds.
Shaun Burton after his usual “pit” stop finished in 50:20 with Ian Wallis 1 minute further back and Pete Fowles making it in to the top 200.
Monica Fee, the only Long Eaton Lady to race the Shorter 3.7 mile race, finished in a very good 40th place in 27:36. These results meant the the Long Eaton mens Team finish in a good 6th place overall in the 4 race series piping Derby AC by 1 point.
