Holme Pierrepont Cross Country
November 5th not only saw fireworks but also 16 members of Long Eaton Running Club take part in the Holme Pierrepont cross country race, 3 Ladies and 13 men - with the Dovedale Dash also on the same day this was a very good turn out. Autumn sun and good ground saw Sparkling performances from the runners. The race got off with a bang and after lighting the touch paper saw Alan Seamer in first for Long Eaton in 7th overall, Ian Adkin next in 16th Place.
Two and a Half minutes covered the next 7 Long Eaton finishers, with the usually punctual Andrei Vais getting to the start on time, only to find the race had been delayed by 15 minutes. Ashok Patel ran well for his 52nd place after running 9 miles prior to the start. Shaun Burton was a minute quicker than last years time with baby faced John Hay, Sean Gauton and the ever present Damian Cowlishaw completing the Long Eaton mens contingent.
The woman's race saw a very good debut for Brione Abbott(29:50) who along with Monica Fee and Jodie Smith made up the Long Eaton ladies A team, with Monica 8th with a fast 22:13 and the ever improving Jodie only 3 places behind in 22:45.
