Goose Fair Gallop & Windgather Fell Race
Long Eaton running club had a very successful day at the Goose Fair Gallop, a 5 mile mixed terrain course in the undulating countryside around Kimberley. A notable double was achieved by father and son Alan and Luke Seamer, who won the Men's V40 and Junior prizes in times of 30.30 and 31.42 respectively. First man home for LERC was Andy Colgate in 30.17, and together with Glen Coleman who was first V45 and Seamer won the team prize. The ladies were also successful in collecting the team award, thanks to Jodie Smith, Debbie Parker and Melanie Berry.
Two club members completed the Wind Gather Fell race, Damian Cowlishaw and Cat Mortimer taking around 2 hours and 50 minutes to complete the 13.5 mile course with nearly 2,500 feet of climbing.
