Caffeine and Marathons

Really interesting post here:

The evidence and points they make are fascinating, especially about when people die in marathons - nearly always when they can first see the finish/ know they will make it/have made it. It was the same with the girl at London last year (just as turning on to The Mall).

Anyway certainly something read and be aware of / consider, as before a race I always have 200mg of caffeine, and 200mg midway through a marathon, and I'm sure I'm not alone.

4 pints of beer the night before a marathon helps alleviate nerves and is also condusive to a good night's sleep. :bounce:
