VLM 2014 Ballot

Postby Woolly » Mon Apr 29, 2013 1:00 pm

If you slept in today, you’ve missed the VLM 2014 Ballot entry as it opened 1st thing and was full by about half eleven!

If you entered, you will have to wait until October to find out if you are in by way of a magazine & letter with a yes or commiserations.

Don’t forget You will be able to enter the club draw, pulled out of a hat at the Xmas do and summer presentations with your rejection letter from the ballot.

Other than that there are charity places available usually requesting to raise a certain amount for them

The Good for age entries need to be in the times below and age groups, If you've already run a full marathon in a particularly fast time, you might qualify for an automatic 'good for age' entry (Achieved since January 2012!)

Please note the Good for age categories have also changed which was not publicised until this morning

Yikes! A few people are going to miss out because of this change then!

Also, dont forget championship entries, which for men is 2.45 and for women 3.15. On that basis Nat will get a championship entry next year!

So did anyone get in via the ballot?
My name is not really Sheila, or Iris. It's just plain old Laura.

Will have see what the postman delivered later!!

If you don't get in but really want to do it, we have our club places available for the draw at the Xmas do, if you entered and got rejected!

Hang on to your rejected letter / magazine to put in for the draw! It still could be you!!

If I am correct we have 4 places, sure Rob and or John Hay can confirm plus a reserve.....

I certainly wasn't expecting to get in & as everyone else did I applied and was 1000% certain that I'd get home & find another 'Sorry not this year magazine' for the 3rd year running!! Needless to say I am still reeling and in a state of shock having stated that after my trip to the seaside next weekend that I would not be doing another marathon!!! I am aware that it is a chance of lifetime & I am going to grab it with both hands and give it a good go.

Thanks for everyones best wishes for next year.

I'm in Good For Age (2.52), didn't manage to upgrade to championship as I was too slow at Nottingham yesterday. Next year :-)

Anyway London is a surreal experience, so we will all get a fun day out!
