Nice one, Paddy. You'll be bunking up with A.N. Other next year as I decided not to bother for 2014. It seems churlish of me not to use my GFA time from this year especially as there's folk that get turned down in the ballot year after year but after 2 years at London, that I've really enjoyed and after a 30 year gap back to 1982, I didn't want to get onto the " it's April, so it must be London" treadmill - too many other races I want to do. Anyway GFA lasts for 2 years - 2015?

If you're lucky enough to have got in London next year, you'll love it.

It's good that the GFA lasts 2 years.

I have considered other Marathon's, and hope to do so in future, but as I'll be 50 and as it's also an opportunity to do 5 in a row sub 3hrs.that's a good motivator for me.

I also couldn't believe my luck when I saw the magazine. When I signed up for the ballot back in late April I hadn't been back to the club for 7 month and could barely run 3 miles. I never thought I would get in. Luckily I have been able to return to club night for a couple of month now and with all the support from all my LERC friends I am sure I will be able to train through the winter and make London a truly special experience. I just want to say how grateful I am for all the encouragement I've received from everybody. LERC is such a special and wonderful club. Thank you all!!!
