VLM 2012 Accom & Travel

Postby foxontherun » Mon Oct 24, 2011 4:05 pm

The usual superb arrangement for travel and accommodation as organised by Shelton Striders is in operation again. An application form is available for printing from a pdf file on the calendar next to the event entry. If you are going to take advantage of this arrangement, please let the organiser know ASAP. All required details are on the file.

Please note that I will co-ordinate any arrangements in connection with the trip to VLM 2012!

I have done this trip 3 year's running now and it is extremely well organised and also well worth the price for transport and accommodation.

There is absolutely no hassle involved in as much as you get taken to the Expo. to collect your number, get taken to the hotel, then to the start of the race on the Sunday morning and then the coach is conveniently situated for the return trip to Nottingham & Derby!

The Shelton lot are a good crowd and there's always a great atmosphere on the coach especialyy on the Sunday trip back after the race!

If you have any queries on this whatsoever then please PM me!

I've looked at the pdf file and it all looks really good. However, I was looking to take more than one supporter and would ideally like to arrange for all to stay in the same place. Anyone who has done this trip before - do you have any suggestions on how we can achieve this without incurring to great a cost?

This is now full. Does anyone know of a similar type of thing available elsewhere?

Ask Dave Mann at Derby Runner. We've been on one of his trips and it worked really well.

Sadly due to my sodding foot not being any better, I have had to accept the inevitable and defer my London place til next year. :-({|= ](*,) ](*,) My place on the London Trip is therefore available should anyone want it. Full cost as already paid by me is £80, though I might be prepared to accept less! Please post here if interested.

Who is dodgy calf?

Have you told Roger Booth @ Shelton that you won't be going to London?

Mario was after a room but hasn't responded to me as yet!

Paddy

I have decided to opt out.

I am just getting back to running so a marathon is out of the question...

Thanks anyway for your help.

No race info turned up yet. Don't we collect the actual number from the expo?
