[quote]Hi there,

I found your email address on the internet and wondered if you might be interested in an exciting competition we are running, to win a place in the Virgin 2011 London Marathon. I’ve put the details below, along with a bit of information about our charity, and I’ve attached an application form for you to pass on to members of your running club. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you require any more information.

Would you like to run the London Marathon in aid of Nottingham’s hospitals?

As keen runners, members of your running club will know that places for the London Marathon are over-subscribed every year and thousands of entrants lose out on taking part in this fantastic event.

Places for next year’s 2011 Virgin London Marathon are now all allocated – but Nottingham University Hospitals Charity has one place left for one very lucky runner!

Anyone who has dreamed of running the London Marathon, and would like to raise money for Nottingham’s hospitals at the same time, can apply now for the chance to be the lucky winner.

Runners who would like to take part in the running event in aid of NUH Charity need to complete the attached application form and return it to me by December 1st, 2010. Photocopies of the form will be accepted, so please feel free to copy it for your members.

The winning entry will be selected on December 15th and the winning entrant will receive an NUH Charity fundraising pack, a free T-shirt and running vest, sponsor forms, and a medal once they have completed the marathon.

The 2011 Virgin London Marathon takes place on April 17th, 2011 and money raised will go to whichever part of Nottingham University Hospital’s Queen’s Medical Centre or City Hospital campus the participant chooses.

Nottingham University Hospitals Charity exists to support the work that takes place at the Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) Queen’s Medical Centre and City Hospital campuses. Donations to the Charity are used to enhance patient care at NUH by providing added extras such as specialist equipment, medical research and staff leadership programmes.

For more information please contact me on 0115 962 7905, or email You can return the application form either by email to the same address, or by posting it to the address below.

I look forward to hearing from you and your members soon.

Kind regards,
