Long Eaton Running Club

At Long Eaton Running Club, we cater for all ages and abilities, from the 12 minute miler to the 12 miles an hour athlete. We run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, meeting at 6.30p.m. for an optional warm up session then start running at 7pm. We organise at least 2 different distances to cater for different abilities & if you are new a LERC member will stay with you so you won't get lost. After training, a few of us always go for a beer or two at a local pub, so please join us for a chat. Have a look around our site and if you fancy a run with us why not pop along one club night. We don't bite.

Runner of the Month

Congratulations to Colin Bostock
A member for over 21 years, Colin has been a rock for the club, taking on a number of roles over the years benefitting LERC and taking us forward. Naturally, after such a long time of competing, Colin isn't regularly smashing PB's - in fact you'd do well to find him running over a 'normal' 5k or 10k distance. Colin is a man of the mountains and loves a fell race or two (hundred), regularly heading out and putting his body through the pain. Recently, Colin clocked up his 1,000th race for LERC, which is a phenomenal feat and not something I'm sure we'll see again, certainly not in the near future anyway. This achievement didn't stop Colin though and through August he accumulated many more miles of inclines, as well as supporting the club at the league races and club nights. A man who has time for a pint with anyone, his team spirit and his commitment to LERC are outstanding. Without him, Long Eaton Running Club would not be what it is today! Cross the road and take the track opposite. Straight up, turn left after the last bit of wood. Follow the field perimeter, bearing right and through a gate. Cross foot bridge on left. Up hill to stile. Pass the bluebell wood and onto bridle path round the back of Hopwell Hall. Right on hall drive, take footpath left after 50m. Cross fields and track etc to get back to main road.
