Welcome to Long Eaton Running Club
Long Eaton Running Club is a friendly running club with over 300 members. We are a diverse group. We have notable success in helping to get people in the local area running through the Couch-to-5k programme, we are enthusiastic supporters of our local parkrun, and we are very successful in local competition.
Club nights are on Tuesday and Thursday each week; meeting at West Park Leisure Centre from 6.20pm onwards. There is a pre-run briefing at 6.30pm, with the run following soon afterwards. There are usually at least two options for distance and, if you are new to the club, you will be paired with a similar-paced runner to make sure you don't get lost. We offer trial membership for 4 weeks. So if you fancy a run with us, just drop us a message to let us know you will be coming along and then make yourself known when you arrive.
To get a feel for what the club is like ahead of your visit, please take a look around this website or our facebook page. Read more about us here

Congratulations to Guy Hope
It's been a busy few weeks on the LERC racing calendar with several cross country series in full swing and lots of members putting in some excellent performances. January saw two of the big national ultra marathon challenges with both the UTMB Arc of Attrition and the Montane Winter Spine races taking place. One notable mention goes to Ben Plummer for his storming performance in the Arc25, finishing 9th male in 3:14:05.
Our runner of the month picked the other ultra option, a particularly gruelling cross country race, the Montane Winter Spine Challenger North! A 160 mile race in sub zero conditions along the Pennine Way from Hardraw to Kirk Yetholm on the Scottish Borders. The race involves over 17,000 ft of ascent which includes traversing the notorious Cross Fell (the highest mountain in the Pennines and the highest outside of the Lake District) on the way to Alston. Of the 115 starters, 78 managed to finish with Guy comfortably inside the 108 hour cut off time to finish the event 33rd overall in a time of 79 hours and 37 minutes. An absolutely monumental effort.
Enjoy your recovery Guy and enjoy this, your runner of the month award. Kudos sir, kudos.
