Long Eaton Running Club
Long Eaton Running Club is a friendly running club with over 200 members. We are a diverse group. We have notable success in helping to get people in the local area running through the Couch-to-5k programme, we are enthusiastic supporters of our local parkrun, and we are very successful in local competition.
Club nights are on Tuesday and Thursday each week; meeting at West Park Leisure Centre from 6.15pm, with the run commencing at 6.30pm. There are usually at least two options for distance and, if you are new to the club, you will be paired with a similar-paced runner to make sure you don't get lost. We offer trial membership for 4 weeks. So if you fancy a run with us, just drop us a message to let us know you will be coming along and then make yourself known when you arrive.

Runner of the Month
Congratulations to Tom Pearce
ROTM - July 2024
Well, what a month it’s been and as a club, so many of you have worked so hard in your training to achieve amazing results! 👏🏽👏🏽
The winner of this months award goes to a newcomer to club. A person who has thrown themselves into ‘club life’ with veritable vigour and enthusiasm. A regular at club nights and league races, they have made friends and become an integral participant in the summer league. According to our calculations they took part in 8 races and achieved 5 PB’s. That’s an incredible 62.5% of success for our winner.
Their first triumph of the month was at Colwick park, on July 2nd, the 5 mile race which is part of the Heritage series. They completed the course in 31.56. Four days later at Smalley Bells fell race, they placed 2nd in their age category and at Worksop NRRL, achieved a time of 30.36 in the 4.9 mile race. A mere two days later, on what I imagine were tired legs, at their 4th race that week- they PB’d in the 10k at Tara Kinder, in a time of 40.14! As momentum gathered, a week later their 5k time was challenged at Long Eaton park run, as they ran a speedy 19.14. To round off this exponential month, they ran another PB at The Run, clocking in at 24.38! Our July Runner of the month is none other than Tom Pearce. 👏🏽👏🏽
