Lights and Pies Charity Night

The Lights and Pies run is the last LERC social event before Christmas and will be taking place on Tuesday 20th December. There will be a run through the town centre/Old Sawley to take in the various Christmas light displays, before heafing to the Bull’s Head pub for mince/apple pies. Fancy dress, or festive hats are a must. The run will start, as usual, at 7pm, but there will be photos taken from 6:30 onwards.

As part of the club’s charity fund raising efforts, there will also be a raffle at the Bull’s Head. The main prize will be Anne's famous traditional Christmas cake and there will also be some other small prizes. Raffle tickets are a £1 each, so please see Rachel Argent or Ash Patel for tickets. They’ll be at the club runs this week and next. Leeann Thompson will take money when Ash departs for his holiday.

As an additional charity effort, this year we would like to gather a few generous bits to help two of the smaller animal rescue centres in Nottingham. These are Babbington CIC Dog Rescue centre and Bramcote Animal rescue centre, which rely entirely on public donations.

If you have any pet food or old pet toys etc in reasonable condition, these can be donated and there is an appeal for cat food specifically from Bramcote Rescue. Old blankets and towels are also needed, especially in winter. If you would like to help out, please arrange to bring your donations for the animals with you on the Lights and Pies night to hand over to Rachel Argent at The Bulls Head.
