The 4th staging of EVRCís ďThe RunĒ took place at The Navigation on Wed 27th July, around the simple 4.2m course. Once again it proved to be popular with 24 members of LERC turning out. 16 Men and 8 Ladies.
Top female honours went to Monica Marriott who claimed 1st Lady overall with a 26min 48 sec clocking. She was ably backed up by Cath Rowe in 30.15, and Dawn Blatherwick in 31.01 to claim the Ladies 1st team position.
In the Menís race, Mark Boot was 4th man back, and 1st for LERC in 23.04, hotly pursued by Girvan Wright in 23.39 and 8th spot, Tom Marriott in 24.32/12th, and Dave Tilling in 24.35/13th. These four easily took the 1st team prize.
Further down the list, Richard Syson achieved a huge PB for the distance, knocking over a minute off his previous best.
Good runs also from Rachel Woollard who was only 4 secs behind Dawn, and Dave Boot, Chris Garratt, Darren Pyefinch and Phil Walters, with the latter showing his versatility over fell and road in recent days, unlike the author!
