Ankle Ligament Damage

Postby Tigger13 » Mon Apr 15, 2013 9:35 am

Hi

Like the best football players I've been struck down with ankle ligament damage after a spectacular fall on Easter Sunday. Having rested it for a week, used the RICE priniciple & then gradually built up my miles last week I hit the road feeling pretty good yesterday however today my ankle is now swollen & v v sore!!! Under 10 miles seem to not effect my ankle & I am fully recovered the next day & can run again. Can anyone suggest anything else I can try to speed up the recovery as Edinburgh marathon is looming large on the horizon & there is no way that I can just train running up to 10 miles in one go!!!

Hope you can help?

Physio for some ultrasound? Impact are brilliant, in LE ANC Derby. Hope it's better soon.
My name is not really Sheila, or Iris. It's just plain old Laura.

if there is still a lot of pain do you need to get it properly checked out so not to tear / rupture more
Impact physio are really good in LE, helped my knee when it was close to Edinburgh for me last year used ultrasound
Do you wear a support on it? - PRICE, Protection, rest ice compression and elevation

How frustrating ...
