2010 Goody Bags

Postby chrisity » Mon Apr 26, 2010 10:46 am

Does anyone have a good ideas for what we can add to the goody bags? Are there any shops, firms that would like to donate food, souveniers etc etc for the opportunity of having an advertising flyer in the bags?

we would need about 400 of anything - a packet of biscuits, a banana, cable ties, you name it.

also any good ideas for things that we could (cheaply) buy to put in, i reckon we could afford up to £1 per runner with a bit of luck.

all ideas welcome, discuss it on your next run, badger your boss.

I'm looking into getting small bags of peanuts and/or something like Starburst (Opal Fruits to the oldies amongst us). I know I always appreciated little things like that.

If only!! The Council owns very little these days - it's all contractors and they want paying for everything.

Colin had the remains of last year's supply of bags, which should be enough.

Can anyone help out with something to put in them? anyone work for a firm that can donate anything, we will put an advertising flyer in if they want?

pen's , post it notes, drinks, food, biscuits, i-pods.........

I have reminded Mark about a donation for the goody bags and that's ok.
He suggests you contact companies like adidas , reebok , lucozade etc as they are often willing to supply bits to stuff in bags. Of course you may have already thought of this but thought I'd pass it on.

so far we have some sweets, a cereal bar, 15% discount at sweatshop and i think some drink. can anyone else help add a little something - even a hundred or so of anything would be useful?

i plan to do a tour of the local shops next week to see if i can get some more donations, but if you have any contacts please try them out - getting something at cost price instead of retail would be helpful for some fruit, it doesn't have to be 400 pieces as we can just leave a box out at the finish or something. i hope to have a small budget.

we will also need help on the day to put items in the bags - marshalls arriving half an our before the marhsalls meeting would be useful.

chris.
