Would that be covered by Garmin's £50 thing? Have a look on their website.
My name is not really Sheila, or Iris. It's just plain old Laura.

Hope that works, you can send it to them and they'll fully service it. I think it costs about £50 so cheaper than buying a new one.

Phone number is 08708 501242, they give you an RMA number, send it off to Garmin in Southampton.
Replacement one sent within 5 days, cost is £47.65.
Not as bad as I thought :-)

Oh good, 5 days isn't too long to wait and £47.65 is pretty reasonable too.

My button is failing after 6 years of loyal service. Not sure whether to send off like stella or go crazy and buy a new one at the VLM expo tomorrow.

I bought a new one, a Garmin 410. Stupidly cheap at £147 inc the premium heart rate strap on Amazon. I'm quite pleased with it. Much more comfortable than the 305.

It gets mixed reviews but I like it a lot so far http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2011/01/garm ... eview.html
