Club Training - 8th May SL Race Ilkeston or just Run

Postby Cathy » Mon May 07, 2018 10:01 pm

Lower numbers at club tonight as Booths road league race at Ilkeston, look after each other and someone volunteer for tail running at the back.

Booths League Race No2 - Ilkeston

The new route which is approx 5 miles, will start at the bottom of Pewit Golf Course. 40 West End Drive Ilkeston DE7 5GH

Starts at 7.30.

There are 60 car park spaces at the Golf Club
Although parking is not restricted on the road we want to ensure that we cause no obstructions to the local residents. We are currently planning having a car park marshal who will advise runners that the car park spaces at the golf club have been filled and direct additional vehicles to the car park at Pimlico DE7 5QB.

This car park has spaces for 131 vehicles and is free after 6pm. It is less than a 10min walk to the Golf Club. The car park and the route to the start is shown on the attached course map

Toilet and changing facilities are available at Rutland Sport Park
Additional toilets are available at the golf clubhouse

Meet at West park from 6.45pm and run to start at 7pm.

To L.E Railway station roundabout – Straight 'on', Fields Farm Road – To 'Pidcock' garage bridge –
Right onto Erewash Canal and go left – To 'House' Boad corner – Left stile, diagonal across the field –
Round the Fish pond – Left at the gate and under the railway bridge – Right crossing the cattle grating –
Path round the Farm to Cranfleet canal stile – Left Cranfleet Canal to Lock No. 4 –
Continue straight 'on' through the car park – Left path at first junction/gate –
To meadow railway line to crossover, Meadow Lane – To 'Tapper Harker' pub roundabout –
Up Oakley's Road -Right Craig Street – Right Tamworth Road – Left Board Street –
Into the Park over the bridge and back.

Ilkeston race should be good. A nice sunny evening by the looks of things!

Will try and get to the venue with more than 2 minutes to spare as was the case at Hexgreave - it made it a tougher run straight in after a 2 hour drive and no warm up!
Howay the lads (and lasses)
