English National Cross Country 24th February 2018

The Nationals are back at Parliament Hill London again this year. They are a great event and a good day out to get involved with. If you would like to enter I am willing to take on the entries this year if noboby has started the process. The entries close on the 12th January 2018. What I would need ...

Cake Race 1700ft 10M

All you LERC bakers missed a good one today. It did what it said on the tin (or cake tin if you like) Free entry to the race if you baked a cake to be entered for judging or £5.00 OTD + £2.00 after for a drink and as much cake as you could eat. A fully marshalled and marked, mostly on tracks and fla...

Hoppits Hill Fell Race

A nice short 3.5 mile fell race around the local area of Hopton raising funds for charity, starting from Hopton Mills Cricket Club organised by Nicky Spinks one of the great female Fell Runners. (Dicky might tell me she is 'The Great' female fell runner). This would make a nice race for anyone wanti...

Re: Windy Hill Fell Race 12/02/17

Begining to wonder myself but I wasn't at home and I was cold. Looking at the reviews I'm not the only one missed off. We had timing chips on our ankles which for a fell race is probably not the best position when there's deep mud about. So maybe some were defective. A 263 mile round trip for a 9 mi...

Windy Hill Fell Race 12/02/17

High winds, Clag down and complete white out in places made the race interesting in parts. Snow, sleet & hail diven into the face by the winds hampered the vision. Don't know if there were any spectacular views as the vis was poor. 'Windy hill ' the correct name for the race Missed off the resul...

Cannock Chase Trig Points Race 2017

A good Long Eaton turn out for this challenging race. It's not so much the difficulty of the course but the time of year (always cold and ice somewhere on the course) and also it's navigational. On the chase itself there are paths going everywhere and taking the wrong one can lose you valuable time ...

Re: CASTELTON FELL LEAGUE RACE

Same race as usual Mildly damp compared with most of the lakeland races. Not really a fell race when you can see the start/finish from most of the circuit and it is mostly on paths. Experience on big hills puts it into perspective. Having said that it is a nice place to run but the up hills are chal...
