Long Eaton Running Club

Welcome . [login|register]

At Long Eaton Running Club, we cater for all ages and abilities, from the 12 minute miler to the 12 miles an hour athlete. We run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, meeting at 6.30p.m. for an optional warm up session then start running at 7pm. We organise at least 2 different distances to cater for different abilities & if you are new a LERC member will stay with you so you won't get lost. After training, a few of us always go for a beer or two at a local pub, so please join us for a chat. Have a look around our site and if you fancy a run with us why not pop along one club night. We don't bite.

Runner of the Month

Congratulations to Marc Kinch
If anyone wishes to see what a running club role model looks like, it's Marc. A man who I'm sure the vast majority of the club know and enjoy the company of. Over a longer period of time, Marc has made himself an integral part of our club as a committed member, a friend and as social secretary, organising various events for our enjoyment. October specific, Marc has also shown many of the great qualities which make him a deserved winner. He has taken on the challenges of different terrains (road, x-c & fell) and different distances (5k, 10k, half-marathon), including a team x-country relay. This has led to him completing 4 of the 5 Winter League races so far, taking an early lead at the top of the standings. Marc hasn't just turned up and completed these races either! Hidden behind that smile, is a man who has been working extremely hard and wasn't too far off his half-marathon best, however his best performance came in the Dave Denton 5k, where he did eclipse his previous best. This also means Kinchy's now claimed a PB at every distance from 5k to marathon in 2018! Congratulations on a fantastic month and a fantastic 2018, Marc.
